The new IGC Controller Mission Statement

The Controller Mission Statement
The Controller Mission Statement of the International Group of Controlling (IGC) defines the role of controllers as partners to management, upholding financial integrity and promoting the sustainable success of organisations. It emphasises agile management processes, sound decision-making and long-term value creation while taking ESG aspects into account. Transparency, innovation and the connection of stakeholder interests take centre stage.
The IGC has now developed a new version of the Controller Mission Statement: the ‘IGC – Controller Mission Statement 4.0’.
The creation of the new mission statement was a collaborative process: numerous IGC members and experts contributed their ideas and comments. In several feedback and discussion rounds, the mission statement was developed step by step and adapted to the current challenges.

More about the IGC
The International Group of Controlling was founded in 1995 by thought leaders from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with the CA controller akademie as a founding member. The aim of the IGC was and is to develop a standardised concept of controlling and to establish it worldwide. Today, the IGC is an international network with members from 17 countries. The network serves as a platform for exchanging ideas, standardising training in controlling and jointly shaping the future of controlling. Klaus Eiselmayer, partner and trainer at CA controller akademie, is actively involved in the IGC as an honorary board member.
